Maqlýsis: The Magical Art of Unmaking

6-mnth course for the id, prevention, dismantling, reversal & removal of unwanted magic.

Service Description

Maqlýsis: The Six Arts of Magical Unmaking is an intensive six-month course devoted to the prevention, identification, dismantling, reversal, and removal of unwanted magical influence. The name Maqlýsis combines Maqlû—the ancient Mesopotamian burning rites performed against witchcraft and hostile magic—with lysis, meaning loosening, release, dissolution, or setting free. Together, they describe the burning away and dissolution of magical influence. Throughout this course, students will explore six interconnected disciplines: Apotropaic Magic—averting, repelling, and preventing harmful forces before they gain access. Unbinding—releasing magical constraints, coercive attachments, unwanted energetic ties, oaths, curses, love workings, and other imposed conditions. Reversal Magic—stopping, redirecting, reflecting, neutralizing, or returning an active magical current. Exorcistic Magic—recognizing and expelling intrusive spirits, hostile presences, and unwanted spiritual influences through careful, responsible practice. Purificatory Magic—removing crossed conditions, ritual pollution, spiritual contamination, and the residue left behind by harmful workings. Dissolution—identifying and dismantling the structure sustaining a spell until it can no longer operate. Students will learn that effective counter-magic requires more than performing a single uncrossing bath or lighting a reversal candle. To properly undo a working, the practitioner must understand how it was constructed, what continues to feed it, where it is anchored, which connections or permissions support it, and what must be restored after its removal. The course will examine historical foundations, magical diagnostics, protective construction, cleansing, uncrossing, binding analysis, spirit removal, reversal ethics, energetic restoration, and the disposal or decommissioning of magical materials. Students will also learn how to recognize false positives, consider mundane explanations, and avoid treating every period of difficulty as evidence of a curse or spiritual attack. This is not a course in paranoia or reckless retaliation. It is a disciplined study of magical defense, removal, restoration, and sovereignty. Students will learn not only how to break a working, but how to close the opening it used, cleanse what it touched, restore what it disrupted, and prevent it from taking hold again.
