Locations Found: Predominantly found in Afghanistan, but also in Chile, Russia, and other parts of the Middle East.

Appearance: Lapis Lazuli is a deep-blue metamorphic rock that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. Its name comes from the Latin lapis, "stone," and the Persian lazhuward, "blue". The stone often contains golden specks of pyrite, giving it a mystical appeal.
